CYDECTIN® Injection CYDECTIN Injection is an endectocide with a broad spectrum of activity. It is effective in treating and controlling internal and external parasites of cattle and roundworms, lungworm and nasal bot in adult sheep.

CYDECTIN® Injection contains moxidectin, a member of the milbemycin/avermectin family. 

CYDECTIN Injection is effective against sensitive strains of the following internal parasites:

Cattle

Gastrointestinal parasites (adult and immature stages):

  • Haemonchus contortus
  • Ostertagia ostertagi (including inhibited larvae)
  • Ostertagia lyrata
  • Ostertagia leptospicularis
  • Trichostrongylus axei
  • Trichostrongylus colubriformis
  • Trichostrongylus longispicularis
  • Nematodirus helvetianus (Adults only)
  • Nematodirus spathiger (Adults only)
  • Cooperia mcmasteri (surnabada)
  • Cooperia oncophora
  • Cooperia punctata

CYDECTIN Injection gives initial kill of larvae and adults at treatment but does not kill larvae hatching 2 to 3 weeks after treatment.

PERSISTENT ACTIVITY

Cattle:

CYDECTIN Injection, when used at the recommended dose rate, shows persistent activity preventing reinfection with Ostertagia ostertagi or Dictyocaulus viviparus in cattle for 28 days following a single subcutaneous injection.

Sheep:

CYDECTIN Injection, when used at the recommended dose rate, prevents reinfection with Haemonchus contortus and Ostertagia circumcincta for at least 35 days and Trichostrongylus colubriformis for at least 7 days following a single subcutaneous injection.
